HTC is consolidating its strategies with the introduction of its latest product, the Vive Focus Vision. This new headset, which merges virtual and augmented reality technologies, comes equipped with DisplayPort connectivity for enhanced PC streaming experiences. It effectively replaces both the Vive Pro 2 and the Vive Focus 3.

The company announced the release of its new mixed reality headset on September 18, strategically positioning its launch a week before the annual conference of its competitor, Meta. Named the Vive Focus Vision, it inherits several features from its predecessor, the Vive Focus 3: dual LCD screens boasting a resolution of 2448 x 2448 pixels per eye, Fresnel lenses, a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 processor, four front-facing infrared cameras for tracking, and a removable battery on the back.

The Vive Focus Vision enhances its capabilities with the addition of two 16 MP front-facing color cameras and a depth sensor for augmented reality experiences, two lens-level cameras for eye tracking, an upgrade to 12 GB of RAM (from the previous 8 GB), and DisplayPort compatibility for uncompressed VR experiences on PC. However, utilizing this feature requires an adapter, which is priced at 149 euros but is offered for free with pre-orders, along with a 5-meter cable. The headset’s display refresh rate stands at 90 Hz in standalone mode, but it can increase to 120 Hz when connected to a PC.
