Southern Comfort wants its gaming fans to "Sour Up" with the new SoConsole.

To celebrate its latest product, Southern Comfort has gotten into the gaming console business.

SoCo, as fans refer to the brand, just unveiled the SoConsole, the only gaming console cover in the world that can store and dispense 50 milliliter shooters of the new SoCo Sour, which is a premixed shooter of Southern Comfort and sour mix.

“SoCo wants to help fans find more enjoyment in everything they do, and that includes gaming,” says David Binder, global brand director at Southern Comfort. “We know avid video gamers are craving a more interactive and social experience with friends. The SoConsole was created with them in mind.”

The new tool, which is priced at $50, is a gaming accessory that can help fans upgrade their gaming experience. A limited number of consoles are available here, but the $50 price doesn’t include Southern Comfort or an Xbox Series X.

But the way this accessory works is that after attaching the SoConsole to the XBox Series X, plug it in, and press the button to light up the device. Lift the top, insert the shooters. After loading the device with shooters, put the top back on, and then either press a button on the device, or use a remote to dispense a shooter.

“Friends can use the remote control to light up the dispenser, and drop a shooter into the display area for the gamer to enjoy during a SoCo sour up moment, whether it’s a celebration or a commiseration,” Binder says.

The device, which is meant only for gamers who are 21 years and older, was created with precision technology to “guarantee accurate 50 milliliter shooter delivery, all controlled by a remote that makes operation a breeze,” he says, adding that the remote works accurately in a range of 80 yards and has a “flawless integration with the Xbox Series X.”

“This combination transforms the gaming experience, making it more engaging and interactive than ever before,” Binder says.

The idea came to Southern Comfort folks fr

“Our fans around the world affectionally refer to Southern Comfort as SoCo, and the playful connection between ‘SoCo’ and ‘console’ sparked our creativity,” Binder says.

om its SoCo nickname. “Our fans around the world affectionally refer to Southern Comfort as SoCo, and the playful connection between ‘SoCo’ and ‘console’ sparked our creativity,” Binder says. “Recognizing that we are whiskey brand rather than a tech brand, we decided to enhance the existing gaming landscape rather than reinvent it. Our goal was to infuse the gaming experience with fun through this pioneering product.”

The other inspiration for the new console is that gamers are looking for more real-life interactions than simply socializing online. “The trend of social gaming has shifted in recent times, with players increasingly looking to share more experiences in real life rather than solely in virtual spaces,” Binder says. “Recognizing this dynamic, we saw a unique opportunity to blend the exhilarating world of gaming with the festive spirit of Southern Comfort.”

The hope, Binder says, is for gamers to connect over using the console. “It’s a gateway to creating lasting memories, and we’re excited to bring this fusion to life and enhance the way our fans connect over their favorite games,” he says.
