BOE Unveils 8K 110

During the 6th Digital China Construction Summit, BOE unveiled its brand new 8K

During the 6th Digital China Construction Summit, BOE unveiled its brand new 8K 110-Inch 3D display and a 300 Color Gamut Switching tech.

It is reported that display manufacturer BOE debuted a UHD Mini-LED 3D large screen that does not require any added equipment, such as special viewing equipment like stereoscopic or flicker glasses. This new display was at the 6th annual Digital China Construction Achievements Exhibition. In addition to the new collection, they also demonstrated a 110-inch 8K resolution 3D large screen and more.

The new BOE display, which measures 100 inches and 8K resolution in ultra high definition, produces a glasses-free 3D image on its large screen. The 3D stereo-depth images offer a depth of 1.5 meters, allowing users to see the image on a large-scale mobile display. BOE is the first company to produce this technology.

In addition to the display, the company released details and a demo of the first 300-color gamut switching technology to support dynamic switching of 100% DCI-P3 / Adobe RGB / sRGB color gamuts. This new technology will allow all three color gamuts to reach an average δE<1 and a switching accuracy of less than one percent.

The technology upgrades the backlights of the display technology by using blue LEDs to equal the "high color gamut organic film conversion technology," improving the RGB output of light. Compared to typical sRGB displays, the new panel coverage technology increases production by forty percent. The display also corrects for blue light damaging effects.

No other specifications are known about the new displays presented by BOE. Much of the latest technology trending in 2023 is represented at the Digital China Construction Achievements Exhibition — 3D equipment-free home, business and mobile technologies, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. Three-dimensional technology used to be limited to theaters, transitioning to home televisions with specialized glasses for movies.

This year at CES 2023, we heard multiple reports of 3D technology making a resurgence in the public eye, which is interesting, with virtual reality being the niche market for several years and artificial intelligence gaining tremendous momentum over the last few years.

There is no word on when we will begin to see the new technology and products in use and for sale. However, several companies, such as Samsung and Leia Inc., are working to bring more 3D displays to homes again for gaming and entertainment. Users interested in more from BOE can follow the company's WeChat channel or the official website of BOE.
