Black Friday VR headset deals will be here before you know it, and if Prime Day is anything to go by, the manufacturers making VR tech could start to get scrappy in order to compete with one another. There are loads of great options on the shelves this year, and I, for one, hope we see some discounts on them this Winter so that more gamers can afford them.

Even as we head into the latter part of the year, the rumors surrounding the VR headset space are whipping up a frenzy. Will Samsung and Google finally launch the headset we've been hearing about since last November? Will the Meta Quest 3S be revealed before November? Will we see a new, PC-dedicated headset release from one of the old-guard brands? With PSVR 2 and the Meta Quest 3 already leading a new wave of popularity for this technology, and Apple content pleasing the 1%, this could be an interesting year of discounts for the best VR headsets.

While we'll list the best deals and offers on this page when they start pouring in, for now, it's important to get you prepped. What headset should you go for and how much should you save? We're answering your frequently asked questions down below, and below that, you'll find a list of last year's best offers. We hope that will help you, and give you an idea of what prices you might see come November. Meta Quest 3 512GB | $649 $499 at AmazonSave $150 - We've never seen the Meta Quest 3 512GB model so cheap, and if you're an enthusiast who will make use of the storage space, this is an amazing time to buy. We don't know for certain if this price will hold, or if it'll fluctuate after the Quest 3S settles into the market. For now, though, it's a great buy.

PSVR 2 | $549 $469.99 at WalmartSave $80 - We've always thought of PSVR 2 as the best VR headset, but with its added PC support at this price, you're getting an absolute bargain. This could be a remnant of Prime Day that could die at any second, so don't wait around to make the most of this discount.

Pico 4 Ultra 256GB + Blade & Sorcery Nomad | £529 at AmazonThe Pico 4 Ultra comes with a free copy of Blade & Sorcery Nomad at the moment, which is a huge bargain. You're getting one of the best VR headsets currently available (arguably better than the Quest 3), along with one of the best VR games ever made.

Buy it if:

✅ You're not a fan of Meta as a brand✅ You still want a great standalone VR headset✅ You want one of the best VR games ever made

Don't buy it if:

❌ You're in the US

With a few new players in the VR arena this year, you'd have to hope that we'll see some competitive deals appearing when it gets to Black Friday time. PSVR 2 could potentially lead the charge. Sony's visor got its first significant discount during the Days of Play this year, which took off $100 from its price only a month or so before the launch of its PC adapter. To stay competitive, and entice those enthusiasts who want to squeeze every drop of performance out of a PS5 Pro, I'd love to see a discount that deep during Black Friday. Then again, we'd be lucky to see a whole $100 drop. Maybe even $50 would suffice, I just want more people to experience its incredible OLED visuals.

Of course, there's Meta Quest 3 to think about, which will surely be the headset the majority of shoppers are looking to buy. Interestingly, the 128GB version has been discontinues thanks to the new Quest 3S arriving on the scene. That's caused some adjustments in the MSRP landscape, but could also leave the 512GB option open for more deals in November.

The old guard of PCVR headsets however, are always ripe for deals come Black Friday. The HTC Vive Pro 2 is on sale frequently, bringing its full kit down to the $1,000 point. This is still a viable option for playing Steam VR games if you can be bothered with the faff of the tracking modules dominating whatever room you set it up in.

There have also been plenty of rumors this year that new standalone headsets will be entering the scene. Besides Apple Vision Pro, which isn't really a gaming device, there's talk of Samsung and Google joining forces to create a standalone device. There are also other brands in the PCVR space who could cough up a new headset before Black Friday - let's all cross our fingers and pray to our lord and savior Gabe Newell that a new Valve Index is coming.

The Pico 4 Ultra has only just launched in the UK, so it's unlikely we'll get a discount on it. However, the pre-order bonus gets you quite the starter set of games to play, so we might see this extend into November if we're lucky. Annoyingly, this will only be a UK option since Pico hasn't entered the US market with its latest device.

Wondering when the offers will start rolling in? Well, Black Friday traditionally occurs after Thanksgiving and on the very last Friday of November - and the same is true this year. That means that this year, Black Friday VR headset deals will take place on November 29.

That said, you won't just have one day to make use of all the sales. Black Friday begins earlier and finishes later every year, and we typically see savings get going as early as mid-November. Cyber Monday will also provide another great opportunity for major discounts on November 27th, 2023.

Meta Quest 3 + Asgard's Wrath 2 + 15 Meta Quest gift voucher |$499.99 at NeweggSave $50 - Newegg didn't drop the price of the Quest 3, but it did offer a $15 Meta Quest gift voucher when you bought the headset from them. That was alongside your license for Asgard's Wrath 2 that came with the launch bundle.

Meta Quest 3 512GB + Asgard's Wrath 2 + 6 months of Meta Quest+ + $25 Meta Quest gift voucher | $649.99 at NeweggLarger 512GB models of the Quest 3 were also available with a gift voucher from Newegg, this time with $25 as opposed to $15. The launch bundle saw the larger SKU also get 6 months of access to Meta Quest+ as well.

HTC Vive Pro 2 Headset | $799 $574 at AmazonSave $225 - The HTC Vive Pro 2 is hard to beat for its stunning resolution and massive field of view, and in this deal got an over 20% discount. You didn't get the tracking modules or controllers here, but they were discounted separately in their own Black Friday deals.

Meta Quest 2 128GB | $299.99 $249.99 at WalmartSave $50 - You could pick up the Meta Quest 2 128GB model for $50 off during Black Friday. If you aren't interested in the latest features from the Quest 3, this is the cheapest VR headset worth having.

Meta Quest 2 Starter Bundle 128GB | $359 $304.19 at AmazonSave $55 - The lowest we had ever seen the starter bundle before this was $338 on Amazon. Its average price is $355 and in this offer, you got it for substantially cheaper than either.

PSVR 2 | £529.99 £499.99 at EESave £30 - EE trumped Amazon by slashing an extra tenner off its previous deal price. This gave you a nice £30 saving on the PSVR 2. Given the fantastic features on offer with this headset, taking advantage of any available discount was seriously worth considering.

PSVR 2 + Horizon Call of the Mountain | £589 £549.99 at AmazonSave £40 - Much like the above, this deal got you the PSVR headset and controllers, plus a great game to help you enjoy them. We didn't see any widespread discounts of this bundle throughout the year, so a £40 cut during Black Friday was more than welcome when it arrived.

Meta Quest 3 | £479 at CurrysSave £1 - In the UK, the best place to grab a Quest 3 launch bundle was at Currys where you could get a *checks notes* £1 discount compared to other retailers.

Meta Quest 2 128GB | £399 £249 at AmazonSave £150 - The Meta Quest 2 128GB dropped by £150 if you went for the 128GB SKU during Black Friday sales. That was a pretty good 38% discount for a headset whose specs still aren't that out of date.

PSVR 2 + Gran Turismo 7 | £589 £559 at CurrysSave £30 - PSVR 2 was one of the best new pieces of gaming hardware to launch in 2023. In this deal, you got the visor and controllers, plus one of its most exciting games with a combined saving of £30. The headset alone usually costs £529 in the UK, so you basically got GT7 for just £20 in this bundle. Nice!

PICO 4 + Holiday bundle | £379 £259 at AmazonSave £120 - We haven't had a chance to test out a Pico 4 yet, but from what we hear, this is the best true rival to Meta Quest 2 and 3 as a standalone headset. This bundle offered a 31% discount and came with Arizona Sunshine 2 and two extra games.

HTC Vive Pro 2 Headset | £779 £479 at AmazonSave £300 - The HTC Vive Pro 2 was discounted in the UK as well. We don't see it come down in price all too often, so it can be hard to recommend compared to the cheaper alternatives on the shelves. When those Black Friday discounts do roll in though, it's great to make the most of them.

HTC Vive Pro 2 Full Kit | £1,399 £899 at AmazonSave £500 - The HTC Vive Pro 2 is one of the best VR headsets money can buy if you play on a gaming PC. In this deal, you saved a massive £500 and got the full kit, complete with controllers and room sensors. Getting the full kit under £900 is a rare thing, so this wasn't to be missed.
